My first play date!!

Kristen and Laney came to visit us last week from Charlotte! Laney is 3 months old and sure to be lots of fun for Ava Grace once she is old enough to really play! The girls were on the same sleeping and eating schedule when they were together. It was really great since it allowed Kristen and I time to visit with each other without interruptions! Ava Grace already told me that she is looking forward to hanging out with Laney again real soon!!

2 weeks old

Ava Grace had her 2 week appt. on Monday and it went really well. She has gained all of her birth weight back plus 2 more ounces. She also has grown almost a full inch since she was born. I am also glad to report that her hips seem to be aligning as they should now. The dr. was a little concerned about this before, but seemed pleased at this appt.
Ava Grace has also had lots of company!! Meme and Pop Pop came to visit from Indiana for a few days and Cece has been here too. They were a GREAT help to me as I am trying to figure this mommy thing out!! Ava Grace has also met her uncles - Uncle Doug, Uncle Steve, and Uncle Evan and her aunts - Aunt Stacey, Aunt Deb, and Aunt Diana. She has 4 first cousins who have also visited - Luke, Brittany, Justin, and Rebecca. Many other friends and family have come to visit from Greenville, Charlotte, Myrtle Beach, etc. Thank you to everyone who has visited! We are truly blessed with the friends and family that we have!

It's a girl.....

Ava Grace was born on Sunday, July 13th at 1:50 pm. She weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces and was 21 1/2 inches long. Ava Grace has a head full of black hair and long fingers and toes! She is beautiful (or at least we think so). It has been an amazing, yet challenging week, but we are already loving her so much and enjoying being parents!
Tim and I have truly been blessed and want to tell you thank you for all of the prayers throughout my pregnancy! God truly is amazing! We hope that she gets to meet you all very soon!!

4th of July activities...

So, My Mom got into town at the end of last week and we decided that we would venture out on Saturday to Saluda, NC for the Annual Coon Dog Day Festival. As we rolled into town, we hit lots of traffic (I think we were a part of the annual parade - YIKES). This very kind, older gentleman helped me get a parking spot at the Presbyterian church downtown. Once I got out of the car and he saw how pregnant I was, he told me that he was glad to help. How nice!! Mom and I proceeded to walk through the thousands of people and dogs. We browsed through the tents with items to purchase and ate a bite at the Whistle Stop Cafe (anyone remember the movie Green Fried Tomatoes?). There was bluegrass music playing while we were there too. It was really a neat experience and I can definitely see why people look forward to it every year.

Just to add to this excitement, Mom and I were trying to find some neat fireworks to watch. After searching for spots, we ended up at a place called Jelly Stone Park (Seriously....that is the name...You gotta love Yogi Bear!!). It is a camping park (obviously, if you remember the cartoon) and the fireworks were over the lake. It was actually pretty neat! So, who can beat going to the Coon Dog Day Festival and watching fireworks at Jelly Stone Park for the 4th of July weekend? Anyone?

9 months and ready to go (almost)....

Ok...so, many of you have asked how big my belly is, so here it is!! Tim and Becca (My college roommate and one of my best friends) are the great photographers. Most of you know that I don't like most pictures taken of me, but it has been fun to see my growing progress every 4 weeks or so. So, with 10 days to go until my due date, this is what Baby Perry looks like in utero. We will let you know when he/she officially arrives to join the Perry family!
